Scope

Brand Strategy · Visual Identity · Motion Design · Brand Guidelines

A brand system and motion guidelines for a global investment group — built to convey authority, precision, and global ambition across every market they operate in.

Axiom Group manages assets across six markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Their existing brand had been created piecemeal as the business grew — a logo from one agency, colours from another, typefaces that no one could remember choosing. The visual identity communicated everything except what the business actually was: a sophisticated, well-capitalised investment vehicle run by some of the sharpest operators on the continent.

Positioning and strategy

The positioning work took four weeks. We interviewed the founding partners, three of their LPs, and five portfolio company CEOs. The recurring theme: Axiom operates with unusual patience. They take long positions, hold through cycles, and focus on structural economic shifts rather than trend-chasing. We built the brand platform around that idea: The Long View.

The identity system

The visual identity is built around a custom logotype and a geometric icon derived from the mathematical symbol for axiom — a self-evident truth. The mark works at every scale from a digital favicon to a 10-metre exterior sign. The palette is a refined navy and warm gold — authoritative but not generic, formal but not cold.

The motion guidelines were a significant part of this project. Axiom presents at investor conferences, appears on financial broadcast media, and produces quarterly reports. Every animated element — transitions, data visualisations, lower-thirds — follows a system built around deliberate, unhurried movement that reinforces the brand character.

Deliverables: logo suite, brand guidelines (180 pages), motion design system, presentation template system, stationery suite, and digital asset library. The identity was shortlisted for a Design Week award in the Financial Services category.
